To convert DVD’s and movies for the new Samsung Vibrant Galaxy S, use the Samsung Omnia II profile in DVD Catalyst 3.
While the phones are different, the video screen resolution as well as the video format it needs to play is identical.

A small bug in 3.90 in regards of black bar removal came to light today, and was causing some major havoc with some DVD conversions “(FAILED)”. DVD Catalyst 3.90.1 takes care of these issues. In addition, the black border removal code has been tweaked a bit for better results.

DVD Catalyst 3 includes support for more devices than all similar products combined. 100’s of different devices have their own conversion profiles, and are easily selectable using the dropdowns. However, every day new phones and media players are released and it is impossible to include profiles for each one of them.

In DVD Catalyst, select Apple > iPod Classic (Fast)
This produces video files that will play properly on the Impact.
Unfortunately when a higher screensize is selected, the files will not play, however, the 320×240 resolution of the iPod CLassic profile produces great quality.
