Elf is a little tricky, but with a small settings change, it can be converted.

Scanning works fine:

but if you start a conversion it will only convert for a few seconds. To make it convert the full movie, make the following change:

*enable Power User at the bottom right

*then go into Global Settings (top left) and

*look for the DVD tab (top right)

*in there, at the bottom, you see 2 DVD mode checkmarks. disable the first one and enable the second one.

Then Elf will convert just fine.
