As many of you already know, for quite some time I have been fighting with my hosting company, PowWeb, regarding the numerous issues they have. It seems that the only websites they are capable of running reliably are websites that get something like 10 visitors a month, and of course their own.
For the last 2 years, their service has been getting worse and worse. It started with their forced database restrictions, so I was forced to setup the tools4movies.com entry page as a static page. Since then, I run into issues like my site isn’t there when I visit it numerous times a week, which always has me wonder how many times it happens when I do not visit it.
They advertise with load-balancing, which supposedly switches the website load to a different server, but the issues I ran into clearly indicate that there is no load-balancing.
Throughout this year, I have received numerous warnings on the amount of space the website takes up, but they advertise with unlimited storage.
In addition to that, they suspended the website early this morning due to excessive bandwidth use, but again, they advertise with unlimited bandwidth.
Is this considered false advertising?
With all the issues I ran into, they sent me around the bush with copy & paste responses about “clear cookies and cache”, “send us a tracert” while the issue clearly lies on their end.In some of their support tickets, the same copy&paste response is used multiple times.
I’ve put up with their BS long enough, and will be moving to GoDaddy really soon.
