DVD Catalyst Newsletter 1

Thank you for reading the first edition of the DVD Catalyst newsletter. Because I am quite new to this myself, please bear with me, and things will only get better. If you have any suggestions for what you would like me to provide some additional information on, please let me know.

DVD Catalyst 4 V4.0.3 Beta 4

A new public beta of DVD Catalyst 4: Mainly internal fixes, but Toy Story 1 and 2 (Special Edition) should work fine now. The work-around should kick in when needed for other DVDs as well.

Toyt Story 2 Special Edition

Both 4.0.2.7 and 4.0.3 Beta 3 don’t like this movie. The DVD protection introduced so many errors on the DVD that during scanning, it chokes. This will be fixed in the next update.

This DVD works without any issues using 4.0.2.7 and 4.0.3 Beta (and up)

Toy Story 1 Special Edition

DVD to Asus eeePad Transformer

Because most of the specs of the eeePad Transformer are identical to that of the Xoom, the Xoom profiles, (as well as all documentation regarding the Xoom found on this website) will apply to the Transformer as well.

1080 playback on Blackberry Playbook

Last week, I converted How To Train Your Dragon using the Xoom HQ2 1080 profile from Bluray (DVD Catalyst 4.0.3 Beta + AnyDVD HD), which played fine on the Motorola Xoom. Just for kicks, since the Playbook is advertised to be able to handle 1080 video, I loaded it up to see how it worked….
