I am very excited about something in the upcoming (and long overdue, I know) update, so I figured I’d share this on the website.
The upcoming version of DVD Catalyst will have chapter/scene support for MP4 files.
Of course it depends on what you use to play the files with, but so far it has been tested successfully on various iPod models (including the Touch 4) and the iPad, as well as VLC.
For DVDs (real ones, mounted ones (daemontools/virtual cd) and DVD folders) as well as MKV files that have scene selection enabled, the original scene positions can be marked in the created MP4 files, and for all content that does not have scene markers (avi’s for example) a fixed interval of a marker at every x minutes can be set.
Note that this is in the current beta. It is not available in the official 3.86.2 version.
