eGreat EG-M34A Network Media Tank after a little while longer

eGreat EG-M34A. A little device I picked up a few weeks (month) ago, and being put to use more and more.If you have not (yet) read my other posts about this little gem, in short this device will play just about any video file on a TV. It’s got all the hookups (network, hdmi, sata) and supports output to 720 and 1080 TV resolutions.

I am using it on a Philips 32″ LCD TV (with the included HDMI cable), and while it is connected to the network, I have an 100GB sata laptop harddrive (the original drive from my Dell laptop) connected to it to provide access to the video files. I still have not tried to hook up an (USB) external harddrive or (USB) external DVD drive to it, but that should work fine. I just connect the harddrive to my laptop (USB to SATA adapter) to fill it up when needed.

Pretty much every night it gets to see some action. While we have TiVo, usually I download a TV show from the internet in HD format, either in MKV or XVID format. I have not run into anything yet that it can’t play.

The only minor gripe I have about it is that if you pause something on it, it sometimes looses audio for a few seconds when you start watching again, other than that, no problems whatsoever.
