DVD Catalyst 3, SWISS Army Knife for video editors

The wife asked me to edit some recordings she had saved on her TiVo to make some room.

I figured I just use TiVo Desktop to pull the recordings to the computer, and then load them into Adobe Premiere Elements, but unfortunately, Premiere did not like the TiVo files.

No sweat, then I just use DVD Catalyst’s Tivo to MPEG function to make it work. Premiere should handle simple MPEG2 video files without any problems, right?

Well, not really. While the converted files played fine and in sync on the computer, Premiere had issues with the audio sync.

So, I converted the mpeg2 files to High Quality DIVX, and that worked better with Premiere.

So, I made the clips my wife wanted to keep, and transferred them back to the Tivo without quality loss.
