The “Email us” menu item in DVD Catalyst is the preferred method of contacting us.
The “Email us” button opens the default email program on your computer, and automatically creates a new email with a few things automatically filled in.
Of course our email address ( dvdcatalyst@gmail.com) is filled in for you, but in addition, the email subject is filled in, and contains some additional info that makes it easier for us to assist.
DVD Catalyst 3+ Build 3.81 Retail Support Request (Apple iPhone)
Above is an example from what the subject contains.
DVD Catalyst 3 or DVD Catalyst 3+ The + is an indication for “Boosterpack” If the + is there, it means that the booster pack is used for conversions, and if it is missing, it tells us that the boosterpack is not used.
Build 3.81 The DVD Catalyst version you are using. Always make sure you are using the latest version by clicking on the cat-eyes in DVD Catalyst. This will perform an update check, and if a newer version is available, it offers to download it.
Trial or Retail While there are no real differences between the trial and the retail version (besides the title) it gives us an idea on where to look. We do not treat Trial users any different than Retail users. Anyone who needs our help will get our full attention, and the same speedy response time.
(Apple iPhone) The current selected device profile. A lot of times we have to “fish” to be able to figure out what device profile is selected. While for most people a DVD conversion is just a DVD conversion, there are lots of differences between the various profiles and conversion formats.
The above is all the information it automatically provides us with. While we could gather a lot more information from DVD Catalyst to put in the Support Email, we value your privacy, and just ask you to provide us with as much additional information as possible.
If you are experiencing issues, please mention if you changed any settings, any at all, and what you are converting. It also helps us tremendously if you look at the “step by step” section of the User Guide, and provide us with where in the process you are experiencing complications. The more information you provide us, the easier it is for us to assist you.
